An independent study and motion graphic used an announcement for a hypothetical lecture from Mae Jemison, who went into orbit aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour in 1992 and became the first African American woman in space. This project is also used as an example for student projects in motion design at the University of the District of Columbia and the University of Minnesota at Duluth.
